Featuring the work of a range of Brisbane writers, poets, and artists, These Frozen Moments builds a world of cascading whispers. Stop and listen to these short stories and microfictions that let you escape, for a moment, into another world.
Hear stories of young love and of life- changing decisions. Discover impossible worlds. Uncover slices of Queensland history. Listen to tales of global journeys, and those from your own backyard. Share your own story.
Housed in an installation of handmade origami sculptures, gently swaying above and around you, These Frozen Moments is a softly glowing space. Tales have been gathered from a wide range of Brisbane writers - young, old, emerging, and highly regarded. They speak of a wide array of diverse experiences and perspectives, with lives on the brink, caught by indecision, suspended in heartache, and elevated with joy. Frozen moments, from other lives - you may even find your own.
Join us to share your own frozen moment – a time in your life that you will never forget for better or worse. This chrysalis will join an evolving installation that will grow in size over the duration of the exhibit.
